For generations, villages and small towns along the St Clair River have enjoyed stunning natural beauty, breathtaking sunsets, and endless opportunities for recreation. Planning for the St. Clair River Trail started in 1997 and construction began in 2002 with the vision to seamlessly connect communities on the river providing a safe, scenic, and active experience for residents and visitors.
Today the St Clair River Trail is a premium waterfront trail stretching 35 kilometers from Corunna, south along the scenic St Clair River to Port Lambton. The on road and off road sections of the trail connect small towns and villages, waterfront parks, historical areas of interest, and numerous picnic areas featuring parking and washroom facilities.
Feel the cool, refreshing breeze roll off the river as you cycle beside Great Lakes vessels and pleasure craft navigating one of the world’s busiest waterways. Explore the areas natural beauty, waterfowl, recreational boating, fishing and the unparalleled views of the St Lawrence Seaway ships. Be sure to enjoy a picnic at one of the 11 parks located along the trail.
